On the Side

So, I had to show this recent side project - it's this address plaque, which you can read about here, on the Fog and Thistle blog.
The typeface is called Dalliance, and I love the way the space inside the 6 and 0 lean to the left. I used to be big into book arts, so I still have a bit of a type fetish.

The back of the plaque is an old silverplate tray that I sandblasted down to the brass base then oxidized. The numbers were hand-pierced and mounted onto the tray. I also made a little tube vase that is attached to the back and included these stainless steel flowers. The stake was also handmade and welded from steel tube, rod and plate. The only things that weren't handmade or repurposed where the screws and the spade piece that is sunk into the ground to hold the stake - thanks to Lowe's for that.
